Back to school with Rockets of Awesome {A review}

We know I have a bit of a Nordstrom obsession when it comes to getting great deals just in time for Fall. The Nordstrom #nsale is always pretty epic. But, honestly, I only get a few things in the clothes department for the boys. I tend to prefer to curate their looks from a few different companies that I love. And while I know that it shouldn’t matter, every time I get the boys a shirt at a big box store, without fail,ย I see five kids wearing the same thing the very next day. I like my boys to stand out in the crowd, so you would not believe my excitement when I learned about this new company Rockets of Awesome. Just like many of the other curated boxes of clothing out there, it’s as easy as 1-2-3.

Want to Save? ย My referral link will save you $20 off your first box.ย  I promise you will love every piece. ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฝ Referral Saves you $20

It’s easy as 1-2-3

  1. Do a survey & based on likes & dislikes you’ll receive a box of 12 hand-picked items.
  2. You’ll receive a delivery 4 times a year – there are no membership fees or shipping fees.
  3. Choose your favesย โ€” or keep them all ๐Ÿ˜‰ย โ€” and only pay for what you keep.

I ordered a box for both boys age 2.5 and 6.5. I made their profiles slightly different just to see what I would get, and I was seriously impressed. The items are cute and on trend, and the quality is impressive. I mean, the softest cotton and that feeling that they will stand up to the test of wild boys, gets bonus points in this mama’s book.

A Video Review/Unboxing

*UPDATE*: As of 2018 the “free item” offer is no longer available, but the $20 off link works.*

What I love:

I love the unique, high quality, children’s clothes and they are delivered right to my door. The attention to detail is pretty amazing, too. Also:

  1. The boxes can be unfolded into an entertaining coloring scene.
  2. The clothes are soft, durable, and “cool.
  3. The prices are comparable (or slightly better) than similar items that can be found at Zara or Gap.

NOTE: This video review is from 2016, and I STILL use & recommend Rockets of Awesome, it’s just that good. **This video is a repost from 2016***

A fewย thoughts:

First, I know everyone is thinking this – what does it cost? To this, I can say that I was pleasantly surprised. I did a little comparison shopping (online) and found that the prices were on par with what you’d see at some of the mid-end retailers. One example is the bomber jacket – The Rockets of Awesome Camo Bomber Jacket cost $42.00. When I looked at Zara they had two similar bombers, one for $39.90 and one for $49.90ย โ€” personally, I preferred the look of the more expensive bomberย โ€”ย so Rockets of Awesome saved me a few bucks. I found this trend to pretty consistent. A few items were a little more expensive, and others were a little less expensive; but all within a few dollars. Again, this is based on where I would typically shop.

I was thoroughly impressed with the Rockets of Awesome concept, products, and customer service. I was going to miss my deadline to make any returns, and with a quick email they extended my deadline so that I could actually have the boys try on the itemsย โ€” I am the worst at having them try things on, much to my husband’s chagrin. It was quick, painless, and helpful. When you’re dealing with the mom demographic of shoppers, you really have to hit this one home, and they did just that. Did I mention free returns for any unwanted items? And, in case you’re wonderingย โ€” my husband wasย โ€” youย can return everything in the box if it just doesn’t work for you. No charge. The service is adaptive, so if they just didn’t get your kid’s style on the first attempt let them know.

The Bottom Line

I’d recommend it! And do, often. Overall, I’m pleased to have stumbled upon this company just as I was in back-to-school shopping mode. I genuinely look forward to future boxes.
