Brand Love๐Ÿ’š Wabi-Sabi Botanicals

I love a lot of products in the Clean/Green Beauty space. In fact, some might say that I easily fall in love. But that’s not true… I’m actually incredibly discerning and difficult to please (just ask my husband). However, when I do fall in love, I fall in loveย hard. So when Elysse, over at Wabi-Sabi Botanicals reached out to me a few months ago about becoming a brand ambassador, it was an easy “yes.” I have mad brand love for Wabi-Sabi.

The truth is, I spent a lot of time thinking about how I wanted to work with brands in 2019. Thisย was a huge part of my 2019 goal setting. 2018 was a year of exploration. I worked with and reviewed a lot of brands, and it was fun, necessary, and exciting. But in 2019 I really want to be more authentic to my own purchasing practices, and the truth of the matter is, Iโ€™m a ride-or-die kind of girl. If I love something, it damn near takes a scandal for me to move on from a brand (that or a significant lifestyle change). So, longer-term ambassador partnerships are much more authentic to how I naturally interact with products.
I love it. I use it. I share it. The end… sorta.
Nothing really changes, other than the fact that the brand and I work together to share the great things they are doing. And in the case of Wabi-Sabi Botanicals, there areย so manyย great things.

Meet Elysse, The Founder of Wabi-Sabi Botanicals

First of all, isn’t she super duper cute? But she’s also a good egg; smart, caring, and super knowledgeable. I was first introduced to Elysse last Fall, and almost immediately I started seeing her & her brand, Wabi-Sabi Botanicals everywhere (like HERE + HERE). It only took trying a few Wabi-Sabi standouts, to fall in love. With both Elysse, and the brand. No kidding, she’s totallyย my Insta-friend now. We chat about our love for animals, good skin, and self-care.

Elysse founded Wabi-Sabi Botanicals as an expression of self-love and to empower women with the tools and resources to develop their own experience with self-love. After studying the art and science of natural skincare she was called to create Wabi-Sabi Botanicals, and the world is a little bit better for it.

Wabi-Sabi not only sources organic, holistic, and biodynamic ingredients, but they make an effort to be sustainable in every way. The ingredients are consciouslyย sourced, the packaging is recyclable, and Elysse even ships your order re-using boxes from old packages she’s received. The products are also PETA certified Cruelty-Free and Vegan, and theyย avoid Palm oil, it’s derivatives and other ingredients that have a negative global impact. Trust me, this brand is squeaky clean, and you can feel good about putting it on your body.

Giving back

One of the other things that I love about Wabi-Sabi Botanicals is their commitment to giving back. You know I love aย brand that does more, and Wabi-Sabi is definitely one of them.ย Elysse invests 10% of profits in life-changing KIVA micro-loans for creative and courageous female entrepreneurs around the world. Every purchase directly supports women entrepreneurs around the world.

I always explore the non-profits that my favorite brands partner with because if I’m able I like to contribute to them directly as well. When exploring the Kiva website, I was very inspired by the work that KIVA is doing. One quote on the homepage resonated so profoundly:

Dreams are universal, opportunity is not.

This concept of equality, equity, and fairness is so important and a topic that gets a lot of play in my household. I love that by investing in my own self-care rituals; I’m investing in other women who are creating change within their own communities. These micro-loans have a real impact on the lives of these women, and that’s something I’m happy to back.

A few of my faves

I can honestly say I haven’t tried a single thing by Wabi-Sabi that I haven’t loved or found effective. That’s what happens with this level of attention to detail and careful consideration to both ingredient sourcing and packaging. It is truly an experience. But, if you twisted my arm and asked me to pick on a few favorites here’s what I’d pick ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿฝ.

Psst – Elysse has given me a code to save you some coin!ย Code: FELIX15 will save you 15% on your entire order (valid for first purchase only).

‘The Offering’ Ageless Ritual Mist

Wabi-Sabi Feature- The Offering- Felixinsideout

This mist, made with rare black Omani, white Carterii Frankincense, and Lebanese orange blossom is designed to tone and tighten your skin.ย What I love most about this mist is the scent- The earthiness of theย frankincenseย mixed with the orange blossom is so soothing. But I can also attest to how brightening and hydrating this mist is; my winter skin has been loving it. I use The Offeringย as a part of my skincare routine, after cleansing, and then mist generously throughout the day. I even mist my daughter, sheโ€™s obsessed.ย

‘Age Gracefully’ Intensif Serum No.3

Wabi-Sabi Feature- Age Gracefully Serum in Hand- Felixinsideout

This serum is a natural, non-toxic, retinol made with Cacay Oil, Acai fruit oil, and green coffee. As you know, my love for retinol knows no bounds; it’s just so amazing for so many troublesome skin conditions. I even wrote a post all about non-toxic retinol (and how you can use them while breastfeeding), featuring this serum, a few months ago. Retinol is revered for its ability to boost collagen; increase cellular turnover; dissolve oil (making pores appear tighter and smoother), and even gradually even skin tone and fade dark spots. If you want youthful skin, nontoxic retinol is your secret weapon.

Age Gracefullyย is a concentrated natural retinol skin serum that rich in potent phytonutrients. The Brazillian Acai is rich in chlorophyll and brings fresh oxygen to the skin make it more plump and dewy. The Cacay Oil (3x more powerful retinol than Rosehip Seed oil) combats visible signs of aging, and the green coffee is antioxidant rich and helps protect the skin against free radicals. I like to add a few drops of this serum into my moisturizer so that I’m getting the benefits no matter what my skincare routine looks like that day.

As always, I love sharing brands that I love and use. But most importantly I love supporting smaller, women-owned, indie brands, like Wabi-Sabi Botanicals, that are doing big things.

Stay tuned for much more of this brand and if you try anything be sure to tell me what you think!
