Hi Friends! It’s November, and I can hardly believe it. I know I say this every month, once the summer bids farewell, but the end of the year just flies by. Especially if you have small children. Halloween came and went, and while I was hitting all the pumpkin patches, and handing out all the candy, all I could think was, “it’s only October, and I could already use a little detox.” So, as we go into November, I’m thinking warm soups, bone broths, and taking a break from all the technology we inundate ourselves with daily to just be and enjoy this season. This November Art of Organics clean beauty box totally supports that goal.
This month’s AO theme, Detox + Protect, is all about combating the stressors that come along with a daily life inundated with digital and environmental overload. Please, and thank you. Interestingly, both the brand featured and the artwork featured are from the UK; I love the way Art of Organics always ties up the theme with a little bow, it elevates the experience. This month’s artwork is an ode to the English countryside, designed by Molly Mahon, a British design studio dedicated to thoughtfully-made pieces that fill a home with color and joy. Mahon’s artwork and textiles are simply beautiful.
Need a little of this in your life? Let’s dive right in.
November Art of Organics x Detox + Protect
This month’s Clean Beauty box features Amly Botanicals, a British skincare line I’ve been eyeballing for a while because they have a reputation for being both highly potent and lovely to use. After a few weeks of using the line, I have to concur. Amly curates three ranges for the skincare enthusiast interested in addressing specific issues. In addition to the Detox + Protect line; which is the line I’ve had the pleasure to experience via this months Art of Organics box; they also offer Hydrate + Glow and Sleep + Replenish.
This Detox + Protect collection includes two products which create a “Pillar of Protection”: a full size of the brand new City Screen Protective Face Serum ($88) and a 30ml of their Digital Detox Mist ($40). This box is a $128 value and only costs you $41.95 with your AO subscription. Interested in the November Art of Organics Clean Beauty Box? Subscribe HERE.
Amly Botanicals
Amly Botanicals is a range steeped in Old English tradition which is meeting modern, science-backed, innovation head-on. Their formulas are created using centuries-old traditional methods to extract essential oils and hydrolates (aka plant waters). Additionally, these methods are beautifully paired with preparations that incorporate the latest natural bio-actives that are scientifically proven to produce results. Amly’s organic wildflower meadow in East Sussex is the source of the mineral-rich water found in their range of face mists. These minerals can help fortify your skin barrier to protect it from environmental stressors.
When it comes to the Detox + Protect curated set, the sum is greater than the parts. Both products work together beautifully to purify and decrease stress. They’re clarifying and harmonizing in a way that heightens the skin’s resilience to environmental and digital pollution while boosting collagen and enhancing hydration. I mean you really can’t go wrong.
Digital Detox
Digital Detox ($40) is a silver rich face mist unlike any I’ve tried since switching to clean beauty. This face mist was designed to help detoxify and clarify your skin while being simultaneously energizing. The scent is magnificent. Yup, I said “magnificent.” If you’re into a sort of frankincense + ylang ylang vibe, like I am, you’ll dig it. But it’s so much more than just a pretty smell.
Digital Detox contains potent ingredients; like niaouli, Himalayan pink sea salt, magnesium sulfate, juniper fruit oil, Panax ginseng, and salicornia (glasswort); that work together to aid concentration, detoxify your skin (and the air around it), eliminate toxins, rejuvenate, alleviate mental fatigue, and tone and brighten the skin. In short, this mist does it all. Shake well & use liberally.
In addition to those warm top notes I mentioned earlier, there are also undertones of jasmine, lavender, and roman chamomile. I mean, how utterly delightful? I know 2018 is coming to a close, but this might be sliding into a top face mist contender for the year. Let me use it some more, and I’ll keep you posted.
City Screen Protective Face Serum
Like the mist, the City Screen serum ($88) smells delightful. This beautiful, milky, lotion-like serum is packed with antioxidants, collagen-boosting compounds, and hydrating botanicals. These are components necessary to combat the grime and pollution associated with urban living. City Screen is filled with ingredients like echinacea extract, marine algae, and marine samphire that will leave your face plump and hydrated. The echinacea extract boosts hyaluronic acid levels and works with the marine algae to help with overall skin suppleness.
There are also very potent antioxidants at work here. Gotu Kola, nettle, and green tea extracts work to fight against free radicals and pollution.
This serum used after the Digital Detox mist is a perfect combo. Together they help alleviate mental fatigue and bring much-needed relief to your overstressed skin. If you live in digital overload, as I do, you will benefit from this duo. I like to follow up with moisturizer to lock in all that goodness.
Looking to add Amly Botanicals to your routine?
This month’s Art of Organics Box is a nice addition to any modern woman’s beauty cabinet (read: spends too much time with technology and in urban spaces). The products are clean, luxe, smell great, and improve the overall look and feel of your skin. After getting such an excellent introduction to Amly Botanicals, I can’t wait to give their other ranges a try. Up next, I think I’ll try their Hydrate + Glow duo.

PS (November Art of Organics UPDATE)
Beginning this month (November 2018) Art of Organics has made a small increase to the cost of their subscription, which is now $41.95. This slight increase more accurately reflects the increase in value you can expect from these boxes. Each box is valued at at least $85, but as you can see with this month’s box, most months the value is far more. There is an initial subscription commitment of two months, but after that, you can cancel at any time. Additionally, if you choose to subscribe for 6-months or 12-months, the monthly cost goes down to $39.95/mo and $37.95/mo, respectively.
