You remember a few months ago when I lost my mind over the August Boxwalla collaboration with African Botanics? Well, they have done it again. Another collaboration with African Botanics, another product that is going to blow you away. Check out this month’s Boxwalla Beauty Box below and prepare to fall in love.
*I received this boxwalla box for review, but as always, all opinions are my own.*
Boxwalla
Every two months a Boxwalla Beauty box shows up on my front porch, and it makes me utterly giddy. Boxwalla is a brand that shows so much attention to detail. Every curation is beautiful and leaves me feeling excited, enchanted, and enthralled. Even more so, I feel compelled to share those feelings with you. -Me
These words never stop being true. Boxwalla is just that beautifully curated. Want to know more about Boxwalla? Check out THIS POST to see why I highly recommend it. TL;DR? Boxwalla beautifully curates boxes featuring products that are just begging to be discovered, and not just beauty, they also curate book & film boxes. One my absolute holy grails (the Beuree Céleste balm) was a Boxwalla discovery.
Perhaps one of the things I love the most about Boxwalla is that they know how to tell a story. This month’s box is a continuation of a story they were telling about African Botanics, a South African brand that uses unique ingredients that are a distinct part of traditional African medicine and culture. When we first discovered African Botanics two months ago the theme was “Lean on Me,” this month we continue with “The Intrepid Pattern of Plants,” as we discover the Resurrection Cell Recovery Serum ($160).
This beautiful serum is a steal with a Boxwalla Subscription, valued at $160 you can try this for only $49.95 with no commitment (cancel anytime); but trust me, every single month is more than worth it– in price and experience.
Be sure to subscribe before October 10th to get this incredible deal. You can SIGN UP HERE.
African Botanics Resurrection Cell Recovery Serum
The gel serum is beautiful. It works beautifully on its own and layers remarkably with the Fleur D’Afrique Intense Recovery Oil (August’s discovery). If you don’t own the Fleur D’Afrique, no problem, I tried it with several other moisturizers, and it played well with them all. 🙏🏽 I’ve only used this serum for a few weeks, but it is hella hydrating and left my skin feeling plump and soft.
This serum has a base of water and African Aloe ferox (indigenous to southern Africa). I love aloe based serums because they are both soothing to irritated skin, and also rich in antioxidants. This particular aloe plant is rich in polyphenols, indoles, and alkaloids which prevent the degradation of collagen. Please, and thank you. Like the Fluer D’Afrique recovery oil, this serum is rich in naturally derived plant retinol, which I write all about HERE (especially useful if you’re on the fence about natural retinol vs. synthetic toxic retinol). I love that this serum uses one of the most resilient plants known to man, the African Resurrection plant, known for coming back to life after extreme desiccation (and “death”). How cool is that?
And, as if this serum wasn’t already doing enough, it also contains hyaluronic acid, anti-inflammatory & calming Gotu kola, arnica and cucumber and cape chamomile extracts. This serum has it all. Literally. In fact, I am a huge proponent for mixing serums and changing serums to match your skins current needs, but with this serum in your arsenal, I’m not sure that is even necessary. It’s just that good. Now, I will have to get through the whole bottle before I can genuinely issue a cease and desist on all other serums, but I’m kind of excited to find out if this performs as good on my face as it does on paper. I’ll keep you posted.
