I have a confession. If you’ve been following me for a while, this will not come as a surprise, but I kinda have a thing for organic green beauty subscription boxes. We won’t call it a problem, per se, because that would confirm my husband’s suspicions; but, it’s definitely a thing.
The truth is, it’s hard for me to feel sorry about this mild obsession. After all, it’s such an excellent way to discover new green beauty brands without having to do all the work yourself. There is the initial research, but once you’ve learned the ethos of the subscription brand, and agree that they align with your own, you get to sit back and enjoy the experience. Every month I get giddy to see what the green beauty goddesses have in store, and I’ve even discovered some of my holy grail products through these subscriptions.
So how do you decide which box is best for you? How do you figure out the brand’s Ethos? Let me help you with that. Today I’m breaking down 5 Green beauty subscription boxes you need to try ASAP.
But first…
Why choose a Green Beauty Subscription?
The short answer is this: transitioning to green beauty can be hard. It can take a long time, a lot of research, and a lot of money to find the products you love and enjoy using.
In the beginning, you need to navigate ingredient lists and product labels. Then, you’ll likely want to seek out product reviews. Finally, when you’re ready to get started, you’ll need to drop some serious coin. There are certainly easier ways to do this, but you will always have to choose between time and money. Now, if you have the time and want to transition slowly, by all means, do that. But if you’d rather have a little more fun, and explore products that are already vetted as clean and effective, a subscription box is the way to go. Not to mention, you’ll save a ton of money along the way because these boxes come at a significant discount. Jackpot!
Art of Organics
One of the things that I love about Art of Organics is that, in addition to delivering organic, natural, non-toxic and cruelty-free products, they also aim to create a meaningful, art-filled experience. Every month two full-sized luxe products arrive paying homage to a theme inspired by the season. The artwork featured also epitomizes that theme and introduces you to a new and talented creator. Previous boxes have been “Jet Set,” “Illuminate,” and “Sultry” (August-Still Available Here). On months where there are not two full-sized products, you’ll find at least one full-sized item and a few deluxe travel sized items. But the value never waivers.
Art of Organics costs $39/mo and comes with a two-month commitment, but you can cancel at any time. Each box has a minimum value of $70 but is typically far more. For example, the last three boxes have been between $81- $98. In addition to this excellent value, members also get 15% off the online store. Expect delivery around the 1st-5th of the month.
This box is for: The Artist. You’ll discover great beauty brands, of course. But, with AO I’ve also found great graphic designers and have even ordered prints of the featured artwork. 💕

Beauty Heroes
Beauty Heroes (BH) is setting the bar HIGH for green beauty subscription boxes. This was the very first box I subscribed to, and they are doing a whole lot of things right. Beauty Heroes offers so much more than just a beauty subscription box. Their mission is to help you discover products you’ll both love and feel proud of using, one “Hero” product at a time. Jeannie, the founder, has one main goal: “Use Less, Love More.”
The whole Use Less, Love More philosophy is rooted in the principle that you will slowly get to experience the best of the best in green beauty. Jeannie understands that you’ll eventually leave Beauty Heroes, but will have found products that you genuinely love, and are effective to boot. Each month BH delivers one “Hero” Product and one “sidekick” from the same brand. Typically both products are full sized, but occasionally you get one full size and one deluxe travel size product. Previous boxes have featured brands such as Maya Chia, Fitglow Beauty, and Siam Seas.
Beauty Heroes has a three-month commitment, starts at $42.95/mo, and promises a value of at least $90. It’s yet another subscription that typically far exceeds the guaranteed minimum. The August Beauty Heroes box (Still Available HERE) features the brand Ayuna and is a $257 value!
Just like with Art of Organics, Beauty Heroes members get 15% off the online store. Boxes arrive the first week of the month.
This box is for: The Ride or Die. No need for frills. This OG beauty subscription box is going to serve up reliable brands that you will grow to love. High quality and consistency mean you’ll transition your beauty cabinet over in no time.

Boxwalla
My love for Boxwalla runs deep. As a matter of fact, I discovered Boxwalla through their book subscription first. Yup, you heard that right. Boxwalla has FOUR subscription boxes: Book, Beauty, Film, and Food. At Boxwalla they curate unique sensorial boxes filled with things that “MUST be experienced.” Not to mention their informative Instagram feed. For example, in addition to ingredient intel, this year they have done a series called “The Sound of My Language” on their Instagram account, and it is divine. It’s best-selling books from different countries read in the native language. Divine!
The same attention to detail is paid to the beauty box. This box is delivered every other month and features two full-sized skincare products. With each box, Boxwalla introduces a theme, along with juicy little clues as to the next brand feature. Previous boxes have featured Twelve Beauty, Dafna’s Skincare, and H is for Love. Boxes ship out the first week of the month.
So far the Boxwalla boxes have delivered the highest value of any other green beauty box. For instance, for the August Box, they featured only one product, but it retails for $250! In previous months, which have had the typical two product box, we’ve seen values of $182-$215. The Boxwalla beauty box subscription is only $49.95 every 2 mo, and there is no commitment. So, you can subscribe and cancel at any time. Guys, this is insane value! They also sometimes have one time boxes available; no subscription necessary.
One of the things I love most about Boxwalla is that they consistently feature super Luxe international bestsellers that I’ve never heard of… and I’m a green beauty blogger! Many of the brands they feature are also award winners (like Dafna’s mentioned above), and every month you can expect to learn so much from Lavanya, the co-founder of Boxwalla. Seriously, even if you don’t subscribe to Boxwalla, you need to be following along on Instagram.
This box is for: The Storyteller/Adventurer. Let Boxwalla take you on an adventure. Lavanya and her team at Boxwalla know how to tell a story. In fact, it’s just one more reason why I love them. Sit back, relax, and let them weave you a tale. You won’t regret it.

The Detox Box
The Detox Box is another green beauty subscription that delivers. This box is the brainchild of The Detox Market, one of my fave Los Angeles clean beauty stores. Each month this beauty box features one brand and 2-4 full-sized products. What’s unique about this box is that it varies the products quite often. For example, one month The Detox box might feature a stellar skincare brand, and the next month a best-in-class makeup line. (Like the August Box which features Vapour Beaut. Get it HERE.)
The Detox Box is $49.95/mo with no commitment, but you can save a little more with a 3- or 6- month subscription. Previous boxes have featured Hynt Beauty, One Love Organics, and Osmia Organics. The Detox Market promises a value of at least $90 per Detox Box, but like many of the other boxes, they often exceed that expectation. In the past three months, we’ve seen values all the way up to $160!
The Detox box ships around the first of the month and each box scores you “Detox Points,” which you can use towards purchases in the online shop. Additionally, you earn detox points when you do things like create an account, make a purchase, and write a review via email (sent after select purchases); later you can redeem those points for dollar-dollar-bills, ya’ll.
This box is for: The Variety Girl. If you like to mix it up, this box is for you. From skincare and body oil to sunblock and hairspray the Detox Box hits all the highlights.

Petit Vour
Petit Vour is an online lifestyle brand that aims to cater to the modern woman who’s interested in luxurious AND ethically made beauty, accessories, & wellness products. As a result, their online store is curated to meet their extremely high standard of the crème de la cruelty-free™. In the store, you’ll find luxury skincare, makeup, bags, and apparel. It’s truly a one-stop shop.
It only makes sense that Petit Vour would get into the green beauty subscription market, and with The Beauty Box, you’ll find cruelty-free, non-toxic, plant-based answer to your Birchbox or Ipsy fix. In contrast, a fundamental difference between the previously mentioned boxes and the PV Beauty Box is that PV uses the deluxe sample model. As a result, each box comes with four products; usually one is full size. The box is valued at $45-60, and a subscription is only $18/mo. Cancel a monthly box at any time (no commitment), or you can sign up for a year and save a few bucks a month.
It was your feedback that led me to explore the Petit Vour Beauty Box. You all agreed that green beauty subscription boxes seemed an excellent way to transition to green beauty. However, some of you were looking for a smaller commitment to dip your toe in the water. I get it. For this reason, I tried out Petit Vour and I feel confident recommending this box. All things considered, it’s hella accessible and features some of the top green beauty brands. Previous boxes have featured Osea, Ursa Major, and Mūn Skin – all cult favorites.
This box is for: The Entry Level Dabbler. If you’re looking for something similar to Birchbox or Ipsy, this is your box.
Fave Petit Vour Discoveries:
- Osea Essential Hydrating Oil .34oz Rollerball ($32)
- Clove + Hollow Lip Glaze in color “Candied Hearts” ($15)
- Mūn Skin Anarose Hydrating Rose Toner 10ml travel ($7)
Choose your Adventure
And there you have it. My top 5 Green Beauty Subscription boxes you have to try ASAP. By and large, you really cannot go wrong no matter which box you choose. So tell me, which type of beauty enthusiast are you? The Artist, The Ride-or-Die, The Storyteller/Adventurer, The Dabbler or The Variety Girl?
Have you noticed? I resonate with all five of these profiles. As a result, and much to my husband’s chagrin, I am subscribed (or have been subscribed) to all of the above. And there’s nothing wrong with that! I promise you, on balance, it’s money well spent!
