You guys… How is it already August? I’m currently knee deep in back to school planning and trying to soak in these last moments of summer. My eldest had Team Camp for his travel soccer league this week, and he begins pre-season training this upcoming week. What? How? Where has this year gone? And yet, here I am, ready to tell you about the August Art of Organics clean beauty box. Before we know it, I’ll be talking cozy sweaters and sweet potato pie. No? Too soon?

Beginning with intoxicating scents, these luxe tropically inspired oils are as effective as they are beautiful. If you love a good body oil, this one is a gorgeous addition to your after shower regime, and The Hair Oil has been a lovely addition to my hair routine.

The Body Oil
This body oil will make you feel sexy. The end.
“The Body Oil” ($54) is packed with nutrients which will help tone, hydrate, and address stretch marks and eczema. Inside you’ll find hazelnut oil, andiroba oil, wildcrafted pracaxi oil, camellia oil, sweet almond oil, and black pepper oil. I love a good sweet almond oil + camellia oil blend because they are known for moisturizing and softening skin, but the addition of the black pepper oil and andiroba oil is extraordinary for easing inflammation and healing dry, irritated skin. Apply this fresh out of the shower to damp skin to seal lock in that moisture.
I’ve been using this oil with light abdominal massage to help with some of the (very minor) stretch marks I have after carrying three bambinos. I’ll keep you posted on that front. But in the meantime, my skin feels hydrated, soft, and smells like I’m bringing sexy back. I’m terrible at describing scents, so the best I can do is say that this smells like a grown woman in full bloom. It’s lightly floral but in a mature way. The Jasmine, Rose, and Bergamot oil give it that vibe, and I’m into it. So is my husband. 😉
The Hair Oil
I’m usually pretty simple when it comes to oils in my hair… I only use them as a pre-treatment before shampooing or to seal my ends. And I have narrowed down my favorites to two: jojoba oil + argan oil. That is until I tried The Hair Oil by Prim Botanicals. And wow is this oil decadent.
‘The Hair Oil‘ ($44) has a coconut oil base with a blend of camellia oil, moringa oil, wildcrafted marula oil, and black cumin seed oil. We’re talking seriously moisturizing. This oil had me at ‘moringa’ and ‘black cumin’ as both are stellar additions to your hair care routine. Moringa oil promotes healthy hair follicles, and black cumin seed oil strengthens and helps prevent hair loss. Please, and thank you!
You can use this oil in a myriad of ways. Use it as a pre-poo, hot oil treatment, heat protectant, or to seal your ends and add a ton of shine. So far I’ve only used it to seal my ends, but I’m hoping to begin using it as a weekly pre-poo with a full scalp massage so I can see if I can get these follicles stimulated. Your girl has hair growth goals. And my hair is still recovering from postpartum shedding and thinning edges. I’ll be sure to check back in a few months from now to give you an update.
