So I’ve mentioned the Siam Seas Yen Heal and Hydrate Toner on my Instagram stories several times. It’s also featured in both my current morning and evening routines. But I do not think that I’ve done this beautiful toner justice. So today I wanted to sing praises of this toner because I know you’ll love it, too.
Before getting this toner (along with the Morning Delight Cleanser) in my March Beauty Heroes Subscription Box– I had never heard of the brand Siam Seas, so I want to take just a moment to tell you about the brand as well. Through my Beauty Heroes subscription, I was able to try this Toner ($90) for only $39 (total box was valued at $115). Siam Seas
Siam SEAS is a Southeast Asian artisan skincare line crafted with over 90% indigenous ingredients. Founder Supadra Geronimo wanted to pay homage to her ancestors and to share these healing ingredients with the world. This brand has an impressive set of core values, and each product is designed with these values in mind.
What you can expect: carefully selected effective and organic Southeast Asian herbs of the highest quality. Each product is handmade in small batches to ensure freshness and potency. The use of natural therapeutic fragrances; aka a little aromatherapy in every bottle.
What you’ll never find: toxins, allergens, phthalates, parabens, sulfates, PEGs, TEA & DEA. They also never test on animals.
Yen Heal and Hydrate Toner
This toner has a well-deserved nickname: botanical healing water. Designed to hydrate, heal and protect, Yen is made with 27 botanical extracts. In the deep amber bottle, you’ll find aloe vera, geranium, cucumber, lavender and chamomile hydrosols. Add to that oils like raspberry, prickly pear, and Sachi Inchi oil, and you’ll discover a deeply hydrating, nourishing, and antioxidant-rich formula that is worthy of all the hype.
The consistency is unique and challenging to describe. It’s almost gel-like, but not quite so viscous. Amino acid-rich mushroom proteins give it this texture which is designed to encourage elasticity and to create a light barrier to seal in dehydration. Unlike misting toners, I prefer to put a few pumps of this in my palms and to pat the product into my skin slowly.
The smell is decadent but not too thick. Notes of rose geranium, peony, and ginger play nicely with the vanilla, frankincense, and black pepper. I find it a delight to use and taking deep breaths of this, before applying, is one of my favorite parts of my skincare routine.
The Bottom Line
YEN is a beautiful toner with extraordinary ingredients, and I adore it. It’s a pricey product, but after four months I’m still working on this bottle, so the value is pretty good. I’d recommend YEN as an excellent hydrating, nourishing, humectant toner to anyone. I’ll definitely be replacing it when I run out. As for its use, several months of using it have led me to this conclusion: It will stay in my nighttime routine, but for warm summer days when I want something a bit lighter I prefer a fine mist that can be applied throughout the day to refresh. Here are two I adore: Hannes Dottir featured here + Province Apothecary featured here.
